Working together
Inviting family and carers, and what each role can do
Keeping the day up to date is easier when the job is shared. Here is how inviting works, and how to choose the right role for each person.
Inviting someone
- Go to People and select Invite person.
- Enter their email address and choose a role. Each role shows a short summary of what they will be able to do.
- Select Send invite. They get an email with a link to accept. You will also see a Copy link button, in case the email doesn’t arrive or you would rather send it another way.
- The link works for 7 days. People shows who has and hasn’t accepted yet.
Roles in plain words
- Owner Full control: events, messages, screens, people and settings. Only owners can set what the person can do on their own screen (Viewer access), approve changes made there, and change their plan. A household always has at least one owner.
- Carer / Family member (editor) Can add and change events and messages. Can’t change screens, people or settings.
- Viewer Can see the schedule on the dashboard, but can’t change anything.
- Device manager Looks after the screens and display settings only: good for the family member who is handy with technology.
The Viewer role is for someone signing in to the dashboard. What your parent can do on their own screen is set separately, in Settings → Viewer access.
Primary contact
One person can be marked as the main point of contact. This is separate from being an owner, so a carer can be the primary contact even if a family member owns the account.
Changing or removing access
From People, an owner can change someone’s role, remove them, or cancel an invite that hasn’t been accepted. Removing someone stops their access straight away; it doesn’t change anything on the screen.
